This isn't a password vault. It's your family's life guard.
Twelve real, ordinary moments where the only thing standing between your family and what's rightfully theirs is whether anyone can actually find the paperwork. Every figure below is sourced — nothing here is invented to scare you.
Financial assets you forgot about
Money that's still legally yours — sitting in limbo because nobody could connect it back to your family.
₹89,000cr+
Unclaimed shares & dividends
Close to ₹89,000 crore in shares and dividends now sits with India's Investor Education & Protection Fund — real holdings, transferred there after seven years of nobody claiming them. Getting it back means proving exactly which folio, which demat account, which company — years after you're the only one who ever knew the details. Vaultherit's Investments records keep every share, mutual fund, and crypto holding exactly where your family can find it the day they need to, not seven years and a recovery agent's fee later.

₹9,330cr
The provident fund from a job you left a decade ago
Over 30.9 lakh EPF accounts sit inoperative — no fresh contribution, nobody claiming what's there — holding roughly ₹9,330 crore between them. An account like that stops earning interest and just quietly loses value while it waits. Most people who've changed jobs a few times have at least one they've forgotten entirely. Vaultherit's records keep every account you've ever held written down in one place — not scattered across a decade of old employers and login pages nobody remembers.

Sept 2026
The demat account frozen without a nomination
SEBI made nomination mandatory on every demat account and mutual fund folio from September 2026 — and the reason is blunt: without one, your family needs extra legal documents just to receive what's already legally theirs, and prolonged unclaimed holdings eventually get swept into the same IEPF pool as the shares above. A nomination takes minutes. Not having one can cost your family months. Vaultherit keeps a record of exactly which accounts have one, and which don't.

₹86,917cr
The savings account that just… stopped
A bank account with zero activity for ten years — no deposit, no withdrawal, sometimes just one forgotten recurring transfer — gets swept by law into the RBI's own Depositor Education and Awareness Fund. More than ₹86,900 crore now sits there, spread across nearly every bank in the country, each rupee waiting for the exact right name and account number to surface and claim it. State Bank of India alone holds close to a quarter of it. Vaultherit's Bank account records keep every account you've ever opened — the one you still use and the one you forgot existed — in a single place your family can actually search.

Insurance you already paid for
Cover that exists right now, attached to something you already own — worthless if nobody knows to use it.
₹50,000–10L
The card cover nobody claims
Almost every bank debit or credit card in India carries free accidental death or hospitalization cover — most cardholders have never once heard of it. It only activates if the card was used in the 90 days before the accident, and the claim has to be filed within 90 days after. Miss either window, purely from not knowing, and a benefit you already paid nothing for simply disappears. Vaultherit's records keep the card, the coverage, and the claim window written down where your family can act on it fast enough for it to still count.

₹21,718cr
The life insurance policy nobody knew existed
Insurers are sitting on ₹21,718 crore in unclaimed policyholder money — much of it from policies families never even knew to look for. Bought years ago, sometimes as a favor to an agent, mentioned once and never again — the kind of policy that just quietly lapses because nobody who's still here knew it was there to claim. Vaultherit's records exist so "I think your father had a policy somewhere" becomes an actual policy number, in one place, the day it matters.

1 hour
The minutes that decide cashless or not
Cashless pre-authorization is supposed to take an hour — but a meaningful share of claims still stumble on something avoidable: an illegible discharge summary, a missing form, a policy number nobody in the room actually knows. In the moment your family needs speed most — you in an ICU bed, treatment waiting on approval — the difference between cashless care and paying out of pocket can come down to whether someone can find your policy number in the next five minutes. Vaultherit's health records keep your policy numbers and insurer details exactly there, so "exactly there" actually means something when it matters.

₹7L
The insurance your old job paid for, and never mentioned
Every EPF member gets automatic life cover through EDLI, the Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance scheme — funded entirely by the employer, at no cost to you, paying a nominee up to ₹7 lakh if something happens while you're still employed. Most people have never heard of it, because nobody ever advertises a benefit that only pays out once. It sits quietly attached to a provident fund account you may have already left behind at an old job, with a claim your family won't know to chase without your nominee details written down somewhere. Vaultherit's records keep exactly that — which employer, which account, which nominee — the one detail that decides whether this benefit is ever actually collected.

Physical & legal access
Not digital, not abstract — a locked door or a locked court case, with real family documents on the other side.
66%
The paperwork behind every property fight
Land and property disputes make up 66% of all civil litigation in India — millions of cases, an average of two decades to resolve. Most don't start with greed. They start with a missing sale deed, an encumbrance certificate nobody scanned, a mutation record nobody followed up on. Vaultherit's property records hold the actual documents, not just a note that they exist somewhere — so the one thing that could keep your family out of court for twenty years is the one thing you already did.

Months
The bank locker that stayed sealed for a year
Without a registered nominee, opening a deceased person's bank locker legally requires a succession certificate — a court process that routinely takes months, sometimes over a year. The jewelry, the property papers, occasionally the will itself, sitting inside the one place the family can't get into exactly when they need to most. Vaultherit keeps a record of which lockers exist, where, and under whose name — so at least "we know it's there and how to open it" is never the part that's missing.

Not about money at all
Two scenarios with no rupee figure attached — because some things don't need one to matter.
Unrecoverable
The crypto that died with the password
A bank account nobody can access is a legal problem — slow, frustrating, but eventually solvable through a court. A crypto wallet nobody can access is not. There's no next-of-kin claim, no court order that unlocks a private key that existed only in one person's memory. Multiple studies estimate millions of Bitcoin are already gone this way, permanently, by simple math rather than any law. Vaultherit's crypto holding records and recovery-phrase system exist specifically so this one is never the way your family finds out what "permanently" actually means.

Irreplaceable
The photos nobody could get back
A parent's phone. A laptop. A cloud account with fifteen years of family photos in it — locked behind a password that existed in exactly one person's head. There's no rupee figure for this one, and it doesn't need one: it's the plainest version of the same problem as everything else on this page, just without the paperwork. Vaultherit is, underneath everything else, a place to write down what unlocks what — so the memories don't become one more thing your family loses twice.
A scenario, not a statistic — included because it's the most universal one here.
A real Pro feature, not a hypothetical
The message that waits
Not a will read aloud in a lawyer's office, and not a note somebody finds years too late. Pro lets you leave an encrypted voice or video message, sealed shut like everything else in your vault — released to your chosen trusted contact at the exact same moment emergency access is, not a day before. Your actual voice. Your actual face, if that's what you'd want them to have. Held safely for as long as it takes, said only once it's actually needed.
